Maniacal Mondays: Doves

Doves

This week’s post features critic’s darlings, Doves.  Coming out of the Manchester music scene in 1998, today we take a peek at their 2005 live performance of the track ‘Words’, originally released on the 2002 album ‘The Last Broadcast’.  The band, having had top ten singles on the UK charts, is far more successful overseas than over here in North America, although college radio has always been a keen supporter of the group.  Doves have recorded four albums to date, but if you don’t want to invest time in searching through them all for the tracks that tickle your fancy you can check out a new ‘best of’ collection that was released earlier this year, ‘The Places Between: The Best of Doves’.
