Maniacal Mondays: Arcade Fire

Arcadefire I know.  Arcade Fire?  Kind of an obvious choice for a post showcasing bands that put on unforgettable live shows, isn’t it?  Why, yes.  Yes it is.  While there are plenty of bands out there that deserve a spot on Maniacal Mondays, today I’m feeling the Canadian Arcadians.  I know that the band has its fair share of critics (I hear ‘self-indulgent’ tossed around a lot by opponents of the group), but I’ve been a fan since they released Funeral back in 2004.  Not only do they consistently make great music, they partner up with talented folks to make cool stuff like The Wilderness Downtown.  Nifty.

So, wait for your boss to vacate the office and then turn this one up.  It’s a performance of ‘Rebellion (Lies)’ from the Funeral album, recorded live in Paris circa 2007.
